An affiliate reset password page lets affiliates choose their own new password from the link in the reset email. With the Manage Reset Password add-on, the link opens a page of your site with a Change your password form instead of emailing a generated password.
By default, Ultimate Affiliate Pro resets a password in two emails: the affiliate confirms the request, then receives a new random password. See How password reset works for affiliates. The add-on replaces the second step: the confirmation link opens your page, the affiliate types a new password twice, and they can log in with it right away. The reset from the WordPress login screen stays the same. See Reset your password in the WordPress documentation.
Before you start
- The Manage Reset Password add-on installed and active. See Pro Add-ons: what they are and how to install them.
- A Lost Password Page set up, so affiliates can request the reset. See Set up the registration, login and password pages.
- The Reset Password – Step 1: Confirmation Request email in Ultimate Affiliate Pro›Email Notifications. If you customize it, keep the

Create the reset password page #
Go to Pages›Add New Page and create a new page, for example Choose a New Password. Add this shortcode to the page content and publish it:

Turn on the add-on and select the page #
Go to Ultimate Affiliate Pro›Modules and open the Manage Reset Password card.

Turns the add-on on. While it is off, the reset email works the default way and sends a generated password.

The page with the [uap-mrp-form] shortcode. The link in the Step 1 email now opens this page. If no page is selected, the reset works the default way.

Saves the settings. New reset emails use the new link right away.
Choose where affiliates go after the reset #
After the affiliate saves the new password, they are redirected. Go to Ultimate Affiliate Pro›Settings›Redirects Setup and pick the page in After Reset Password.
The page affiliates open after they save the new password. Affiliate Login is a good choice, so they can log in with the new password at once. With Do Not Redirect, affiliates go to your home page.

What the affiliate sees #
- The affiliate clicks Lost your password? on the login form, enters their username or email address and submits the form.
- They receive the Reset Password – Step 1: Confirmation Request email and click the link in it.
- The link opens your page with the Change your password form. They type the password in New password and Repeat new password and click Submit.
- The password is saved, they receive the Reset Password – Step 3: Password Changed Notification email, and they are redirected to the After Reset Password page.
The form shows a message when something needs attention:

Tip
To change the text of the confirmation emails, edit the Reset Password notifications in Ultimate Affiliate Pro›Email Notifications. If no Step 3 notification is set up, the affiliate still gets a short “Your password has been changed.” email. See Email notifications.
Test it #
- Open your Lost Password Page in a private browser window and request a reset for a test affiliate, for example
emma.collins. - Open the Step 1 email and click the link. Your reset page opens with the Change your password form.
- Enter a new password twice and click Submit, then log in with the new password.
Frequently asked questions #
How long is the reset link valid?
One hour. After that the form shows “Reset link has expired!” and the affiliate requests a new reset.
Do affiliates still receive a generated password?
No. With the add-on on and a page selected, affiliates choose their own password on your page, so the Step 2 email with a generated password is not sent.
Which email contains the link to my page?
Reset Password – Step 1: Confirmation Request. Its {password_reset_link} tag now points to the page you selected in the add-on.
Where do affiliates go after they change the password?
To the After Reset Password page from Ultimate Affiliate Pro, Settings, Redirects Setup. With Do Not Redirect, they go to your home page.
Does the add-on change the WordPress or WooCommerce password reset?
No. It changes only the reset link sent from the Ultimate Affiliate Pro Lost Password Page. Password resets started from the WordPress or WooCommerce forms work as before.
